I have green algae in my pool, I have tried till I am
black and blue to remove? What should I do?
Most types of algae can be removed using various types of
algaecide; you simply follow the instructions and apply it to
your swimming pool water as needed.

For more stubborn types of swimming pool algae removal,
Pool Service Sacramento will have to drain your pool and
treat the algae directly with the proper chemical. This is
typically known as a "chlorine bath".

A chlorine bath consists of draining the pool and washing all
the plaster or pebble tech and tile with an industrial chlorine
solution.
This chlorine, applied directly do the now exposed algae, will kill the algae. We will apply the chlorine
to areas of your pool that are occasionally overlooked such as grout lines in your swimming pool, pop
ups, and in your skimmer. Once we are done applying the chemical we will wash it off the pool with
your hose and pump it all out of your pool and into your sewer drain (in the front of your house).

After we have pumped out all the chlorine we can begin the process of refilling your swimming pool
with fresh water.

This process of drain-and-fill, combined with a chlorine bath can typically take care of any algae
problems that swimming pools in Sacramento will get.

Occasionally swimming pools will grow what is known as black algae, this algae is much stronger and
heartier than the green or yellow varieties. Typically the process of a chlorine bath will take care of
even black algae but where it has been allowed to get really bad you may need to drain your pool and
remove the infected areas of plaster and then re-plaster those areas of your swimming pool.
